First I must start of by saying all Nirvana's material has reached a state of nirvana. All their albums, singles, compilations and used toilet paper are above all other band's albums, singles, compilations and used toilet paper in my opinion. These 10 albums I love to listen to straight through without skipping a single track.
With that said these are.....
John Miller's Top 10 Non-Nirvana Albums of All Time
Numero 10

Bangles
Everything 1988
Growing up this was my very first album I called my own. No Manic Monday, No walking like an Egyptian or Hazy Shade of Winter this album featured "Eternal Flame", "Be With You" and many other songs I loved and sang with my sisters at the wonderful age of ten.
Favorite song: "Be With You"
number 9......number 9?

Our Lady Peace
Clumsy 1997
This album opened up my mind to the possibility that Canadians can rock too. Raine is an amazing singer that pours emotion into every syllable. The music full of powerful power chords and great melodies.
Favorite song: "Car Crash"
8 is great!!!

Bush
Razorblade Suitcase 1996
Sixteen Stone was great but Razorblade Suitcase burns holes in my tympanic membranes. Mouth, Swallowed, Cold Contageous, Insect Kin, Bonedriven...et cetera just amazing. Gavin sorta turned into a yuppie maybelline man but before he did he made a wonderful album I'll always enjoy.
Favorite song: "Insect Kin"
Make 7 up yours!!!

Sonic Youth
Dirty 1992
Kim Gordons best showing vocally on a Sonic Youth album. Songs on Dirty are tighter than most of their other albums, less drawn out ambient measures and more energy. Start to finish this album takes you for a ride.
Favorite song: "Creme Brulee" (the whole album)
Number 6 pick up hicks!!!

Nine Inch Nails
Pretty Hate Machine 1989
Nine Inch Nails debut album showed me how synths and keyboards should be used. Darkness, anger, jealousy and rebellion make great songs. Just an album I cant skip tracks when I listen to it. Favorite song: "Kinda I Want To"
Johnny 5 Alive!

Metallica
...and Justice For All 1988
I know this album doesn't have a bass on it but with James, Lars and Kirk do you really need to hear Jason? Early Metallica was the best and this album was my favorite in junior high, still love thruway and ghetto driving with this one cranked.
Favorite song: "The Frayed Ends of Sanity"
Number 4 your mom's a whore!!!

Queens Of The Stone Age Lullabies To Paralyze 2005
This album was stuck in my car stereo for close to 2 years. I know this album inside out, every note every word. I didn't get sick of it at all, it would have been nice to listen to something else in the car during that time but great songs. Favorite song: "Everybody Knows That You're Insane"
Number 3 WHOOPIE!!! (not Goldberg)

Soundgarden
Superunknown 1994
Ah Soundgarden Superunknown not a huge fan of Spoonman but big fan of the rest. Black Hole Sun is one of those overplayed songs that should be played more. Fell on Black Days, Fourth of July, The Day I Tried To Live, My Wave, Let Me Drown awesome.
Favorite Song: "Limo Wreck"
Number 2 WOOHOO!!! but not like Blur

Radiohead
OK Computer 1997
The flow of this album is something to behold. Sweet and sour inflections in Thom Yorke's voice throughout the album keeps me from skipping. "No Surprises" sums up the demeanor I share naturally on a day to day. "Paranoid Android" is like a late 90's Stairway to Heaven in my opinion.
Favorite Song: "Paranoid Android"
and John Miller's #1 Non-Nirvana Album of All Time is.................(drum roll please)

Number one and I'm done!!!

Smashing Pumpkins
Siamese Dream 1993
I used to listen to this tape nonstop walking up and down Seneca as a yute till the batteries ran out and Billy sang all slow. Couldve been the album of my generation if it wasnt for Nirvana's Nevermind. Favorite Song:
- Cherub Rock
- Quiet
- Today
- Hummer
- Rocket
- Disarm
- Soma
- Geek U.S.A.
- Mayonaise
- Spaceboy
- Silverfuck
- Sweet Sweet
- Luna
